Bossa Nova Restaurant and Beer Bar

Bossa Nova Menu, Gerani, Crete
Bossa Nova, Gerani, Crete, Courtyard

We visited this delightful restaurant for an evening meal with friends and were seated in the pleasant outdoor courtyard whilst gentle jazz music played in the background. Bossa Nova is famed not only for its food but the numerous varieties of bottled beers that available from the special menu.

Having visited this restaurant on many occasions I failed miserably in trying something different from the varied menu and went for my usual - Jazzanova pasta; which was as usual, a wise decision. This dish of pasta, large prawns, feta cheese and ouzo always delivers and never lets me down. My husband and one of our friends decided upon the beef burger with bacon and egg which is delivered with a portion of chips and this was soon devoured. Our other friend chose stir fried beef with noodles in a slightly spicy ginger sauce.

There were no complaints about the delicious food and we washed it down with a few beers and house wine. The complimentary baklava with the bill made it an extremely pleasant night.

PROS

A lovely atmosphere with excellent food.

I am reliably informed that the wc is spotless

CONS

The portion of chips that came with the burger was a tad small - potatoes are after all cheap.

There is a bit of a waiting around for service. We were seated at the table for about 15 mins waiting for our guests and we were not asked by any of the waiters whether we would like a drink whilst waiting. Then when we were all sat together we still had to get a waiters attention to call him over and ask if we could order drinks before we had even ordered food.
