Incontro Cafe, Platanias, 73014.
Incontro Cafe enjoys a great location in the center of Platanias where you can sit and people watch as you enjoy taking time out of your busy holiday routine. Breakfasts are particularly amazing, especially the Cretan breakfast. This really sets you up for the day with a meze style feast consisting of homemade Greek yoghurt, dakos, toast, fresh orange, tea or coffee and cake. If you're not full up after that lot then you can always order another because at just €9 this 'Big Breakfast' is great value.
After a long walk around the area we decided to pop back in to Incontro Cafe to sample one of their ice creams. We have admired them for quite a while so it was always on the cards we would try one. There is so much to choose from that to recommend just one flavour is beyond the realms of this review. Suffice to say at €6.50 for each large bowl they are pretty good value considering the size, and just the thing to cool down two hot and dusty walkers who were crazy enough to be out in the midday sun.
The interior is bright, modern looking and immaculate and it always looks inviting both day and night. I know that many people always worry about the toilets when on holiday in foreign countries, well you don't have to worry about the facilities at Incontro in both the ladies or the gents (I have this on good authority from my husband about the gents) as they are immaculate.
We have yet to try an evening in Incontro, but rest assured, when we do there will be a review on Taste Bud - Crete to tell you all about it. PROS
